About Energy Work

Energy work, or energy healing, is a form of alternative (or complimentary) medicine that addresses imbalances in the energy field of the body.  Because energy work modalities are often holistic in nature, they can facilitate healing mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and/or physically.  Energy work is generally a safe method of treatment and seeks to promote harmony and balance within the energy field, supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself.  The body has the innate ability to heal itself if given the proper conditions.  The goal of energy work is to get one’s energy flowing freely and vibrantly in and around the body, without any blockages or imbalances, so the body can better heal itself.

Not only are we made of energy, but we are affected by energies all around us, both positively and negatively.  Everything has a unique vibrational energy that it gives off.  Some energies are beneficial and bring healing and happiness.  Others are detrimental to our well being.  Some energies elevate us, while others drag us down.  If your goal is improvement and/or healing, it is imperative to surround yourself with the highest vibrational people, energies, media, etc..  Positivity and “good vibes” go a long way as far as your health and well-being are concerned.

Note:  Energies are often amplified in empaths.  They should take particular caution to shield themselves and disconnect energetically from energies that are not their own and that are not for their greatest and highest good.  Stay tuned for more information on empaths coming soon.

Energy

Everything is energy.  Everything is made of energy.  Some energy is visible, some invisible.  You are pure energy.  Your physical body is made up of visible energy.  Your spirit body (chi, ki, qi, prana, or life-force energy) is made up of invisible energy.  If you want to break it down logically and scientifically:  your body is made of systems, which are made of organs, which are made of tissues, which are made of cells, which are made of atoms, which are made of subatomic particles, which are pure, vibrating energy!  You could pretty much break down anything that is visible and tangible in the same fashion.  Just a side note … your heart sends out electrical impulses that are measured by electrocardiograms (ECGs or EKGs).  If you weren’t “electric,” then the defibrillator heart paddles wouldn’t do a thing to you or for you.   Lie detector tests would be useless; neither would a physical therapist bother to hook you up to an electric muscle stimulator.

Forms of energy work:

There are various forms of energy work that seek to help restore balance to the body so that the body will naturally be able to better heal itself.  There are a lot of well-known forms, such as: chiropractic care, massage, acupuncture, acupressure, etc.  These use physical manipulation to attempt to get the energy balanced and flowing better in the body so that it can function better.  It made so much sense to me when I found out the meaning of  “subluxation,” a term often heard in the chiropractic realm.  “Sub” means low, and “lux” means “light.”  So when there is a misalignment, or “subluxation” in the spine, there is low light (or low energy) flowing through it.  When it is adjusted, it allows more light (or energy) through.

Though this is not an exhaustive list of energy work modalities, the following are some of the forms of energy work that I practice or teach:

  • Body Code

  • EFT Tapping

  • Emotion Code

  • Healing Touch

  • Jin Shin Jyutsu

  • QiGong

  • Reiki

My experience with energy work:

When I was crippled (for the second time in my life) with sciatic issues, there didn’t seem to be anyone in the world that could help me.  My chiropractic kinesiologist in Las Vegas, Dr. Timothy Francis, had been in a roll-over car accident and I didn’t know if he would live, let alone practice again.  Others that had his same credentials, just weren’t able to DO what he does.  I didn’t find relief from any “traditional” source.  I finally turned to the Lord and asked Him, the Master Healer, to teach me how to heal my body.  He subsequently brought one holistic healing method (energy work method) into my world one at a time, just when I needed it.  Reiki was the first, followed by Emotion Code and EFT Tapping.  After several months of hard work, icing, stretching, changing my diet, and applying every modality and means I had been taught, I was issued a clean bill of health, so to speak.  I was able to heal from this debilitating issue without drugs or surgery.  YAY!!!

I have now been trained in several other modalities and love to teach others how to use holistic forms of energy work to help themselves and their loved ones.

Distance energy work

Energy work can be done at a distance and can be just as effective as working with someone in person. Permission should still be granted before distance energy work is performed.  Distance Reiki is taught in Reiki II classes.

Muscle testing can also be done at a distance using a proxy.  I have a lot of clients that have neck, shoulder, and back issues, so I prefer not to directly use an arm muscle test.  I ALWAYS do proxy muscle testing with those that I work with, whether I work with someone remotely or in person.

My experience with distance energy work:

People feel the effects of distance energy work all the time.  Some feel sensations taking place right in the midst of a session; others feel the same “after effects” that one might feel during an in person session.  Lots of people feel tingles, lightheadedness or whooshes of energy.  Some notice sensations in various parts of their body.  With one particular client, those sensations lead us to the next thing that needs to be released, like a road map guiding our session.

When I first learned how to do distance Reiki, I called up a Reiki Master friend of mine.  I wanted to practice on someone who was familiar with energy work and Reiki in particular.  We talked over the phone as I did a session from a location an hour away.  She was lying down, like she would be if I were doing an in person session on a Reiki (massage) table.  I talked her through what I was doing, feeling and sensing on my end.  She did the same.  She is very intuitive to energy and  saw a lot of colors throughout the session.  At one point, while working on her head, she felt a stabbing pain.  I had her cradle her own head in her hands and I did a technique of energy removal on my end, pulling the energy from the neck up and out under her head.  Within just a couple of pulls, she said the stabbing pain was gone and it felt like a melting candle.  She had been all stuffy and clogged up with a head cold of sorts at the beginning of the session, but it cleared up during the session and she was breathing with no problems.  Before I even told her, she could tell when my hands changed locations, when I was getting ready to ground her, and knew when I was done.  She took a huge breath and exhaled an audible sigh.  It was a great session for the both of us.

While working with another client several hundred miles away, we identified a trapped emotion at her right kidney.  I inquired whether she had been having trouble with that kidney.  Nope, not to her knowledge.  My initial response was, “Good.  Let’s get rid of this before it starts giving you trouble.”  As I did the emotional release distantly, I heard her say over the phone, “Oh.  Oh, my.”  As soon as I had started the release, she felt that right kidney heat up.  It was quite an uncomfortable heat at first, but then started cooling off.  It actually took a day or so before it cooled completely back to normal.  At that point, she knew that the trapped emotional energy had completely dissipated.  Wow!
